Business Catalyst

Domani Digital has been building websites for over 20 years. For most of this time we had used our own proprietary CMS that allowed us the flexibility and efficiency to create sites without compromise. With the maturity and advancement of open source software and the communities that have been built around them much of the advantages of a proprietary system have been eroded. In fact customers now know to avoid these types of systems as they lock you in to a supplier. We researched hundreds of CMS systems before choosing just a few that we feel are best for specific purposes.

For some of our smaller sites we were using the Adobe Business Catalyst CMS. This is a full-featured and easy to use system.  Unfortunately in March 2018  Adobe announced the End of Life for Business Catalyst.  This is a shame because it was a nice CMS with a lot of potential. For more information, visit the Adobe Business Catalyst site www.businesscatalyst.com.

At Domani we saw that Adobe wasn’t progressing with Business Catalyst at the rate we would have liked so around four years ago we made the switch to WordPress for our smaller sites. We haven’t built a new site in Business Catalyst since then but we still have many sites we continue to support until such time as a migration to WordPress, or similar, is warranted.
